Oh, this is positively nostalgic. I remember when I used to yell through the screen at Annie, back when I watched LoM for the first time.

If you disagree, that's cool. 'S just my opinion. )

Upon re-watching Life on Mars, I'm getting a huge kick out of watching Gene and Sam. They're so in tune even by the second episode (the first airing one, I think). Not just in the overt, "jump over desk/show badges in synch" sort of way either. They can have conversations with just body language, like (just as one example, you can be sure there're more) the one near the end of 1x02

lalala, spoiler, not sure if it's needed but here it is anyway )

Sam+Gene forever. *draws imaginary hearts like a middle-schooler*

I find sometimes I prefer stories where they're not slashed - the two really do care deeply for one another, and romantic stories sometimes give me the impression that the lust is the main reason they care. I think if they were in a romantic relationship, that would be another level on top of what's already there, which would be the bulk of it. Not like the definition of their relationship but rather a bonus with it - granted, a bonus with lots of issues and necessary secrecy involved with it.

a question occured to me. Again. I noticed it when I was in a bookstore, too. I suppose Amazon dot com is like a bookstore. *gazes into the distance for a moment*

Um. Okay, right, the question.

Why do none of the Star Trek books so much as mention McCoy? It's always, Kirk and Spock this, Kirk that, some random crew that I don't care about... but usually Kirk and Spock. Not that I don't love the characters, but - like they're the only important ones?!? What about Sulu and all of his awesomeness? Or Uhura, Checkov (sp?), Scotty... all those people (but mostly McCoy; If McCoy's not in a Star Trek book I'm looking at, chances are that I'm not interested. 'Cause he's my favorite, and I'm biased like that.)?

Like, WTF, man? Anyway... *wanders off*

There's one common element of many fan fiction stories (and in the books? I can't remember) that I still have a twitch about. It's not... I mean, it's not  unrealistic - I think it's likely that it would be put in the books - but it is highly unreasonable. To me. Not to say anything about the authors that have included that! I read stories that include it and don't mind much at all. It just seems like - I mean, think about it - Voldermort (mort means death in Latin. I wonder if volde means something in the same language. Possibly it just resembles some word. Volder? Molder? Moldy Voldy! Anyway)

Voldermort - would he torture a few members of his cult (would it be considered a cult? Chasing rabbits again, as one of my high school history teachers used to say. He loved to ramble. So do I. Anyway, again...) would he torture a few members of his magic-weilding Neo-Nazis every meeting? It doesn't make much sense to me, especially since I'm pretty sure he doesn't (*didn't*) have many members. You drive people away that way, which is something he could scarcely afford! Even if they were in terror for their lives, eventually I'm pretty sure many would say, "Screw it," and rebel, run away, or just give up, regardless of his wrath. There's only so many times someone can endure excruciating pain before losing sight of the point of the exercise, regardless of how dedicated they were to the cause at the beginning. Unless they're really used to pain and, like, blindly devoted. (Could Bellatrix be considered such?) The majority, though, weren't. At least, they didn't seem to be, and I believe most of his followers were at least mostly sane. Rambling sentence, I think. Sorry. I've made my point, though, and now I'm going to wander off to read.

(I'm putting off assignments again. Surprised? No, I'm not, either. Disappointed? Maybe I am, a little. In myself. Not that that's ever stopped me from pursuing happiness in such situations.) Anyway, now I'm going to wander off to hopefully find some Hermione & Snape fiction that I like.

Hey, the spell check thing (not LJ's, some strange internet one) recognizes Hermione as a word, but not Snape. Wonder why.

I had ice cream! It was good. Took Tia to the vets (waited *so* long, but they were busy) and got antibiotic type things. Her eyes were weird. And, was gonna' say somethin' else, but I forgot. Oh, yeah, my mom went to see her family on Monday. Um, and I'm going Thursday with a friend to see his family. I keep thinking of that corn thing that I had the last time I was at their place. Something Mexican in origin, I believe? And talked to someone today who I haven't talked to in a while. She called me. Living with her mom, so I'm thinking she's 'clean', as it is called? Whatever. What is that dish called? Moving on. Oh, poor kitty, you can't go outside! Gawd. Um. It's meowing. I'm not sure who it is, thus I shall call him/her 'it'. Wish Molly wouldn't be so bitchy about coming off of being outside. It's like she's going through withdrawal or something. She keeps hissing at her kittens. Anyway... yeah, really gonna' hit 'post' now. Truly. *does it*

Insight-less Rambling

I have been reading stories from Potions and Snitches, which houses stories about Harry and Snape. I have also been watching YouTube videos about Spock and McCoy. There's this story which does this thing that I really like the idea of - can't remember the title, and the author might be Kelthammer (a.k.a. Marcy?), but don't kill me for not knowing exactly! Spoilers ahead? I think so. Don't read further if you care about that.

I think McCoy is cloned after he dies of old age and various things, and his remade body is in part Romulan. I'm not sure about that last part, but I love the idea. I love it because, that way, McCoy can be with Spock. I don't really like the idea of Spock being the last of the extremely close group of friends/comrades/family/whatever that was made of Kirk-Spock-McCoy. I love happy endings the best, and that way McCoy can be with him and Spock doesn't have to be 'alone'. And there's also the aspect of McCoy becoming like something he's teased Spock about many times. Pointy eared, and stuff. Lovely. Um, there are a few stories, and the last one that I found is how McCoy responds to it - comes back to life, more accurately. I was a bit sad when I couldn't find more, but what I read was fantastic. The first story, Breaking Point, was suggested when someone on the Spock/McCoy yahoo group that I'm a new part of sent an e-mail pointing out one particular line she liked. Those stories are among my few very-most-favorite Star Trek stories, and I am glad to have read them.

Okay. Rambling mostly over. Oh, and mom left to go to the airport this morning. Empty house, 'cept for me and the cats. Tia can't seem to open her eyes, so I'm gonna' call the vets and hopefully take her in to them tomorrow.  Got some pretty important papers to do over the break, but I'm just reading today. Feels like I've been reading so long - and I have. Since this morning, I really am addicted. Mum has said I am, and I always deny it. Am I addicted? I just enjoy reading...  Anyways, what? Oh, yeah. And the vidoes I loaded from YouTube last night still load! Yay! *waves a flag happily*
